Zara Phillips MBE is the daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips.
Zara is an elite standard equestrienne and previous Eventing World Champion after winning an individual gold (to complement a team silver) at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Germany.
By a cruel twist of fate, injuries to her horse Toytown prevented Zara's participation in both the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympics; however the stage is set for Zara to to ride for gold in front of an adoring home crowd at the London 2012 Olympics.
In 2006, an enamoured British public voted Zara BBC Sports Personality of the Year (an award her mother won in 1971) and in 2007 she was conferred a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to Equestrianism. The outgoing and down to earth Royal launched a clothing range in December 2009 and also continues to be involved in a number of charities supporting spinal injuries and various children’s causes.
